Mr. Jason Ross has been serving as Providence Academy Headmaster since 2008 and has been advancing Christian education for more than fifteen years. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, Mr. Ross is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Management, Leadership, and Administration through the University of Central Arkansas, which began as a teacher’s college. Mr. Ross holds an M.S.E. in educational leadership as well as teacher and administrator licensure. He is also ordained as a minister in the State of Arkansas.
Mr. Ross leads with a shepherding heart, desiring to help families realize the significant goal of a Christ-centered, college-preparatory education.
Assistant Headmaster/Upper School
Mr. David Smith provides strong supportive leadership at the Upper School Campus, cultivating a Christ-honoring environment. Mr. Smith holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington with concentrations in marketing and business technology; and a B.A. from Calvin College with dual majors in English and psychology. Mr. Smith has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a guest speaker in educational settings, most recently at the Walton College of Business.
In the four years prior to coming to serve at Providence, Mr. Smith had worked for the global market research company IRI in a series of progressive responsibilities, most recently as Principal, leading part of the Walmart engagement team. Prior to joining IRI, David spent almost 12 years at Walmart, including roles as Senior Buyer and Manager of Merchandise Finance, and also worked in sales planning and customer engagement for two manufacturers.
Grammar School Administrator
Mrs. Ashley Cook is the Grammar School Principal. Mrs. Cook graduated with her Masters in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University and has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education (K-8) from Lipscomb University, both in Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Cook’s experience includes five years at an academic magnet school, where she was a member of the leadership team and the grade level chairperson. She joined the administrator team at Providence Academy in 2012.
Mrs. Cook is organized, communicative, and caring. She is dedicated to Christ as well as to the academic attainment of Providence students. Mrs. Cook leads the Grammar School with excellence and efficacy.
