President of Providence Academy
As President, Mr. David Smith provides leadership K-12 for the academic, athletic, and fine arts programs of the academy. He also oversees the business office and admissions processes of PCCA. Mr. Smith holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington with concentrations in marketing and business technology; and a B.A. from Calvin College with dual majors in English and psychology. Mr. Smith has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a guest speaker in educational settings and at the Walton College of Business. Mr. Smith has been serving at Providence Academy for more than four years.
In the four years prior to coming to serve at Providence, Mr. Smith had worked for the global market research company IRI in a series of progressive responsibilities, most recently as Principal, leading part of the Walmart engagement team. Prior to joining IRI, David spent almost 12 years at Walmart, including roles as Senior Buyer and Manager of Merchandise Finance, and also worked in sales planning and customer engagement for two manufacturers.
Chancellor of Providence Academy
Mr. Jason Ross has been serving as Providence Academy since 2008 and has been advancing Christian education for nearly twenty years. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, Mr. Ross is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Management, Leadership, and Administration through the University of Central Arkansas, which began as a teacher’s college. Mr. Ross holds an M.S.E. in educational leadership as well as teacher and administrator licensure. He is also ordained as a minister in the State of Arkansas. Reporting to the PCCA Board of Directors, Mr. Ross provides oversight to the marketing, development, and family/student life activities of the school as well as the future facilities of Providence Academy.
Mr. Ross leads with a shepherding heart, desiring to help families realize the significant goal of a Christ-centered, college-preparatory education.
