Welcome, we are pleased that you have come to view our site. Would you like to know a little more about Providence Classical Christian Academy? We are a Classical Christian University Model School under the National Association of University Model Schools that is meeting the needs of students across Northwest Arkansas.
At Providence we believe in using a distinctively classical approach with a Christian perspective in educating our students. Our vision is to partner with parents and provide our students with the best academic layout possible.
How can we meet your needs? If you are looking for a school that allows time to be given back to the family for spiritual and educational development, then you have found the right place. Our Lower School students attend classes on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays and Upper School students attend Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. (beginning with SY2008) On campus days provide students with professional instruction which allows our Providence parents on the at home days to re-enforce and carry through with instructional methods which were presented in class.
Providence Academy continues to grow in enrollment, as well as we are planning to add a 9th grade for the 2008-2009 school year. Due to our growth, we are now interviewing for openings in our faculty for the following positions:
1. Pre-Algebra Instructor 8:15 am. - 9:15 am. M/T/TH
2. Algebra 1 Instructor 8:15 am. - 9:15 am. M/T/TH
3. Kindergarten Instructor 8:15 am. - 3:30 pm. T/TH
If you are interested in a part-time teaching position for the 2008-2009 school year, please email us at info@providence-academy.com to learn more about becoming a part of Providence Classical Christian Academy.
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. Psalm 145:4
Our first ever grandparent appreciation event was a great success. With a student enrollment of 120, we were overwhelmed with the response from our grandparents. It was such a great joy to see over 100 grandparents on campus for the event. The focus of the day was to highlight the importance of the generational passing-on of God’s truth and simply express our gratitude for the role that grandparents play in raising up children for the Kingdom. The day kicked off with breakfast for the children and their grands. Next the group moved over to the sanctuary for a special chapel service provided by Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Taylor. Afterwards, Mr. Guthrie, Mrs. Russell and two PCCA grandparents – Mr. Miller and Mrs. Jenkins - shared a little about the heart and mission of the Academy. The grandparents were then invited to the classrooms to see a glimpse of what education looks like at Providence. Many positive comments were expressed both during and after the event. Here are just a few responses: “We thoroughly enjoyed the day”. “We were quite impressed with the school”. “The entire day was simply delightful”.
Many thanks go out to Mrs. Patterson and her entire crew (Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Higginbottom, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Taha, Mrs. McAlister, Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Hopwood, Mrs. Bova, Mrs. Krause, Mrs. Morgan) for pulling off an event of this size in our limited space. This day proved to be a blessing for everyone involved. We will look forward to hosting our grandparents again next year, and once again want to thank everyone for helping shape the future of Providence Academy.
First of all, we would like to thank Mrs. Holt & Mrs. Maner for their hard work preparing the students for the University of Arkansas Regional Science Fair. In a highly competitive field from both private and public schools from across the region, PCCA students displayed excellence in both their perfomance and Christ-like character. With 9 entries in the competition from our school this year, PCCA students were able to bring home three 1st place awards, two 3rd place showings, and one honorable mention award. Our first place winning students will now go on to compete in the Discovery Channel's Science Challenge Event. It is with great pleasure, we would like to recognize the following Providence Academy students for their outstanding achievements:
*Ryan Hoyt and Mitchell Guthrie: 1st place in the mid-division team competition.
*Garrett Moore: 1st place in behavioral/human sciences.
*Olivia Paschal and Morgan Erskine: 1st place in the junior-division team competition.
*Chad Mussler: 3rd place in computer sciences.
*Kaylee Harper and Abbey Stewart: 3rd in the junior-division team competition.
*Anders Flashnick: Honorable Mention in energy and transportation.
We are very proud of all of the students who represented the academy!
Many families of older students have asked the question, "How can an older student successfully transition into the classical model of education at Providence Academy?".
Starting in 2008, all new incoming 7th-9th grade students will be enrolled in our year-long "Intro. to Latin" course. This introductory course will allow new students the opportunity to begin learning this beneficial language at the foundational level. New students will now be able to experience the excellent college-preparatory education at Providence, but not feel overwhelmed by having to learn advanced Latin course work.
As part of Providence Academy's expansion plans for the 2008/2009 school year, we will be adding 9th grade classes. Students in the Upper School (7th-9th) attend classes on campus three days per week (M/T/TH). On the other days, students work independently under the supervision of their parents at home.
The goal at Providence Academy is to partner with parents to offer a college-preparatory education in an environment that provides parents the necessary time to instill values and beliefs in their children that are important to succeed in college and beyond. If you are interested in learning the benefits of a pro-family, Christ-centered education for your child, we encourage you to contact our admissions department.
This past week, Providence held the 3rd Annual Latin Spelling Bee competition at the Jones Center in Springdale. The event was a great time of competition, as well as fellowship with other families from the academy. In the 3rd-4th grade division, Madeline Jett placed first, with Taylor Cassar coming in second. In the 5th-8th grade division, the spelling bee lasted over 1 hour with Ryan Hoyt beating out Mitch Guthrie in the 21st round.
In the finals to determine the overall Providence Academy Latin Spelling Bee Champion, Ryan outlasted Madeline to capture the Constantine Cup.We would like to congratulate all of the participants, and say a special thank you to Mr. Randall, Mrs. Brinson, and Mrs. Bowen for taking time out of their schedules to judge the event. We would also like to thank the local ABC affiliate 40/29 TV and the Morning News newspaper for covering the event this year.
It is such an exciting time at Providence Academy, and we continue to see God expand the territory of this ministry. It is with great joy and excitement, we would like to announce we are expanding our administrative staff.
As a result, we are beginning the process to hire a Full-Time Headmaster for the school. We are looking for a dynamic Christian individual who is experienced in administration, as well as a genuine desire to partner with parents to raise up the next generation for the Kingdom. If you are interested in learning more about this position, or know of someone who would be interested in inquiring about the Headmaster position, please email the academy at hrussell@providence-academy.com.
First of all, thank you to all of the families for coming out to the 2nd Annual Providence Academy Science Fair, as well as a special thanks to Mrs. Holt & Mrs. Maner for overseeing the event. We would also like to congratulate all of the students for an outstanding job this year. It was a fun and very educational event, and the work from the students truly showed their love of science.
Listed below are the winners from this year's science fair. Many of these winners will now represent Providence Academy at the Northwest Regional Science Fair at the University of Arkansas in March.
Attention Providence Family: We would like to congratulate Olivia Paschal as the 2008 Providence Academy Spelling Bee winner. Olivia will now represent our academy at the 2008 Benton County Spelling Bee this coming spring.
As part of the school's character program to partner with parents to raise up the next generation for the Kingdom, students were challenged to help raise awareness and provide food for the less fortunate in our community. Students at the academy recently finished the PCA Annual Food Drive to benefit the Ozark Food Bank. The total weight of food donated by students at the academy this year was 2,365 lbs. (over a ton of food!). We would like to congratulate all of the students at
