Emily Shell Collins, a 2016 alumna of Providence Academy, graduated this spring from Harding University with a double major in Math and Computer Science. This year, Emily received The Berryhill Award, the highest award the Harding athletic department gives that honors a senior who possesses the characteristics of athletic excellence and academic achievement. It is named after former coach and athletics director M. E. Berryhill.

Emily said that “Providence prepared me for college by helping me know how to study and work independently to complete classes.” She shared that her teachers at Providence “pushed her, challenged her, gave her what she needed to succeed, and helped her to develop good time management skills.”

Emily’s advice to future Providence graduates: “When you start deciding what college you’ll go to, where you’ll live next, or where you will work, sometimes there isn’t a right choice. Decisions can be hard, but be prayerful and trust that whatever decision is made, God can use you.”

In August, Emily will move to Clarksville, and she will start her career as a Technical Consultant at InfoWorks, in Nashville, Tennessee. Emily met her husband Charlie Collins at Harding, and they married in December, and have been happily married for almost 6 months. Congratulations Emily and Charlie!
