class sizes

The target size for most classes is the following:

  • K-5th grade: 16 students per classroom.
  • 6th-8th grade: 18 students per classroom.
  • 9th-12th grade: 20 students per classroom.

Some classes are undersized and some may have more students in order to maximize student learning. For example, Providence may employ the successful method of conducting larger lecture classes with the additional involvement of a teaching assistant to train older students for college classes.
