   admissions

Thank you for your interest in Providence Classical Christian Academy. We seek to co-labor with you to train a generation for the glory of God through classical Christian education. Full communication between parents and school is essential for each new or returning student. The admissions process outlined below describes the steps necessary to enroll new students or re-enroll continuing students.

Procedures

1. Attend a Providence Informational Meeting: Parents are required to attend an informational meeting about the Academy. These meetings are held at scheduled times, and families will receive their admissions packet at this meeting. Admissions packets may only be obtained at this meeting.

2. Review School Material/Prayer/Complete Forms: If, after the school meeting, you are still interested in Providence, then please carefully review the material about the school. If you have questions, then please contact us. We do want to help you to make the wisest decision possible for your children. If, after reviewing the school material and praying about your decision, you still want to proceed forward, then please complete all of the forms enclosed. Please note that there is a admission fee required at this time. Please mail the completed admission packet to the following address:

Providence Classical Christian Academy P.O. Box 173 Lowell, AR 72745

3. Testing and Evaluation: Once we have received the admissions packet, we will contact you and notify you of the date for the placement test. Placement testing is required for admittance to Providence and is administered and evaluated prior to course registration and family interviews. Testing is done so that we can more appropriately place students in each course and in order that each family might better determine the comparative relationship between the student and Providence’s level of course work.

4. School Admission’s Family Interview: School admission is a one-time process that is handled by the admissions committee. The purpose of this meeting is to make certain that all of your questions about Providence have been answered and to make certain that Providence is the appropriate school for your family. Your admission forms will be given to the Admissions Committee Director who will call to arrange an interview. Both parents and potential students must attend the interview. Please allow 45 minutes for the first child, and 30 minutes for each additional child for the interview process./span>

5. Letter of Acceptance: After the interview process has been completed, each family will receive a letter from the school administrator. This letter will indicate the admission committee’s decision.

6. Enrollment Agreement: This will be included with the letter of acceptance. Return it along with all applicable fees to enroll your child(ren).

Providence Academy intends to admit students from families professing Christianity that desire a classical Christian education, support this approach in life and education and agree to abide by the code of conduct. Although Providence Academy seeks to educate students with varied academic ability, students with below average academic ability may not be able to succeed in the robust curriculum. Each student’s academic ability will be assessed and students will be placed at a grade level where they can achieve. Applicants for Kindergarten must have their fifth birthday on or before September 1st of that year.

Providence Academy gives preference in enrollment to students from currently enrolled families. Students enrolling in six or more classes and students communicating a high level of interest in attendance at Providence Academy with the character and academic ability to succeed in the program also receive preference. Admission is not exclusively determined on the basis of the date of filing an application; however, early application is strongly encouraged. Providence Academy reserves the right to refuse admission or re-enrollment for reasons it deems sufficient. Due to the rigorous curriculum and academic program that will be taught at Providence Academy, students should be prepared to be challenged and expect to work hard in their studies.

New students should prepare academically by rigorously emphasizing development of excellence in reading skills, English grammar, mathematics, biblical literacy and study skills. Legible cursive handwriting is expected of students in the 4th grade on up. You can help your child succeed at Providence Academy by emphasizing personal responsibility for room, clothing organization, chores, etc. Train your children to complete the entire job without interruptions—unloading dishwasher, making bed, reading a short story from start to finish, etc.
