Awards and Honors
Providence Academy takes great honor in recognizing outstanding achievement among our students in all areas of the school. Through hard work and determination, students have the opportunity to excel and be recognized in different areas and departments at the academy.
Overall Honor Graduate Distinctions:
- Valedictorian: Highest GPA student in graduating class
- Salutatorian: 2nd Highest GPA student in graduating class
- Cum Laude: 3.5 GPA
- Magna Cum Laude: 3.7 GPA
- Summa Cum Laude: 3.9 GPA
National Merit Scholarship:
Students are awarded distinction by Providence Academy for being recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. There are three different levels of recognition for students as part of the National Merit Scholarship program:
Distinction of Achievement in Latin:
Providence students who successfully complete three high school credits of Latin will achieve the “Latin Distinction Award” at graduation. This student will wear a “cord” at graduation, as well as be recognized by the academy.
Focused on recognizing Christ-like character traits in all Grammar students
The top student (highest grade GPA for 9th-12th grade in the subject) for each of the following departments will receive recognition for their achievement at graduation.
